Harvest to Help the Hungry Revisited – E Letter

Since I suggested sharing excess produce with local food banks and soup kitchens 2 weeks ago, I have received kind words from several of you (always appreciated).  And the list of agencies has doubled.  Since awareness tends to feed on itself, the list may continue to grow.

With that in mind, I have created a website that I hope I can keep current and that you can refer to when you have produce to share.  That website can be accessed at http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/chatham/ag/homehort/Harvest4Hunger.html

It includes locations and times as well as a cross reference by day of the week.

(Persons associated with these agencies, please check for accuracy.)

I will also appreciate any feedback you have.  I’m relying on you to make this work.  And I’ll try to make improvements when feasible.  If this works, then perhaps next year we can adopt a program pioneered by the Garden Writers Association – Plant a Row for the Hungry.  Together we can make a difference.

Thanks to you all.

E Letters are archived at

If you do not wish to continue receiving the E Letter, please reply to this email with the request to unsubscribe; please include your email address in the body of the message.  You can go right off the list, no questions asked.  If you have friends who would be interested, please feel free to share, and let them know they can be included in future mailings by sending me an email request to al_cooke@ncsu.edu.  When sending email, please include the email address in the body of the message.
