The next Writers' Series workshop hosted by the Chatham County Arts Council will feature Pam Beck on Saturday, November 8, from 1pm to 4pm at Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro, NC.  The Writers' Series features workshops by local and regional writers.  Each three-hour, interactive workshop is for writers of all skill levels.  Registration for each workshop is $25.

Pam Beck is an award-winning freelance garden writer, photographer, and lecturer.  Co-author of "Best Garden Plants for North Carolina" with Laura Peters, Ms. Beck has regularly published articles in Carolina Gardener Magazine since 1993.  She was the featured lecturer in 2007 for the North Carolina Botanical Gardens Jenny Elder Fitch Memorial Lecture Series, and she is a local garden scout for Better Homes and Gardens Magazine.  Ms. Beck currently serves on the Board of Advisors of the J C Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Her work has appeared in numerous local and regional newspapers and magazines, such as Fifteen501, Wake Living Magazines, and The News & Observer.

Ms. Beck shared what to expect in her workshop: "This exciting writing workshop will inspire you to delve into the delightful niche of garden writing.  We will cover what constitutes garden writing, your potential markets for publication, tools that will set your work apart, and the best resources for research information.  We will laugh, share, commiserate, and agree that writing about what you love makes all the difference."
