Of those who completed the Complete Gardener series of classes in 2008, 86% reported an improvement in their ability to protect soil and water. 76% knew more about when to plant and how to prepare a space for planting. Only 36% of those beginning the class were using good water conservation practices most of the time or all of the time; by the end of the class that percentage had increased to 70%. Those who learned to evaluate plant needs prior to watering more than doubled from 35% to 75%.
We are still accepting applications for the Complete Gardener classes. And because we are conducting both afternoon and evening classes this year, the space will be less crowded and more comfortable. You will also learn about evaluating sites for planting, identifying harmful and beneficial insects, and how to determine plant fertilizer needs.
If this sounds like something you would like to learn more about, you can find details and registration information at

We’re looking forward to seeing you in January.
