Chatham County Beekeepers' Association:
Honey Extractor Rental Rules and Procedures
The extractor is housed at the Agriculture Building in Pittsboro, NC with the Chatham County Center of North Carolina Cooperative Extension. Click here for directions to the Ag Building.
The charge for use of the extractor is $10 for members and $15 for non members who will get a bonus by becoming a Chatham County member for the current year. The check-out procedure may change, but for now reserve it by contacting Jane Tripp at 919-542-8202.
When the extractor is picked up a form or index card will be filled out with appropriate info (name, phone, etc.). When the extractor is returned a check can be attached made payable to Chatham County Beekeepers, or an IOU can indicate that you want to pay in cash or at the next meeting. The form or index card and check will be put in a locked box to be picked up by person getting the building key for the monthly meeting. The form or index card and check will be given to the treasurer or other designated person.
The extractor can be used for two days maximum.
You must return the extractor clean. Rinse out the honey and wax, spray with bleach solution and rinse thoroughly.
