This club focuses solely on livestock, primarily beef and dairy cattle with an interest in goats as well. They show their animals and compete in the dairy bowl and other livestock competitions. Meetings are monthly near Siler City and members range in age from elementary to high school age. Join other K-8 classroom and nonformal educators as we explore activities in the Project Learning Tree K-8 Curriculum Guide. Every participant will leave the workshop with the PLT K-8 Activity Guide which includes 96 activities correlated to the NC Standard Course of Study and Essential Standards. The PLT activity guides are provided free of charge to participants through support from the NC Forestry Association. CEU renewal credits are available. This workshop qualifies for Criteria I or II in the EE Certification Program (K-8).

STEM Connections? Differentiated instruction? Literature links? The PLT activity guide covers it all!!! The PreK-8 guide is correlated to the Common Core (math and ELA) as well as to the NC Essential Standards (science and social studies). Participants will learn about the materials through direct engagement in the PLT activities throughout the workshop. More details will be sent prior to the workshop. Please bring a lunch and prepare to be outside. Masks will be required and space will be limited so we can maintain social distancing.

Please make a personal commitment to attend to ensure there are enough materials and space for everyone. More detailed information will be sent prior to the workshop. Cancellations made by the registration deadline will receive a $10 refund. Cancellations after this date will not receive a refund. If the workshop is canceled due to COVID restrictions, everyone will receive a full refund.
