Sustainable and Organic Vegetable Gardening
Do any of the following describe you?
- A first time or beginner vegetable gardener
- Someone who is new to vegetable gardening in central NC
- An experienced vegetable gardener who would like to be more successful
- Someone who would like to make less impact on the environment when vegetable gardening
If so, this is the course for you! Based on practical information you can trust, this short course will focus on sustainable and organic vegetable gardening practices suitable for residential and community gardens in central NC.
There are three classes in this short course. Each class will be offered twice, once in the morning and once in the evening. Participants can choose to register for the morning or evening series of classes. Download the course schedule for a description of each class.
Class 1: Planning for Success
- Tuesday, March 8, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, March 9, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Class 2: Year Round Vegetable Gardening
- Tuesday, March 15, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, March 16, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
Class 3: Managing Pests and Weeds
- Tuesday, March 22, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, March 23, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.
The cost of the course is $30 per participant and includes class resources and refreshments. Couples who wish to share a set of resources can register for $45. We are not able to accept payment by credit card. Please pay by cash, check or money order. Payment is due with registration on or before Wednesday, March 2, 2016.
To register for this short course, please download the registration form below, fill it out, and deliver or mail with payment to the address listed below for the Chatham Extension Center on or before March 2, 2016. Registration forms are also available from the Chatham Extension Center in Pittsboro.
Please make checks/money orders payable to Chatham County Cooperative Extension. Registration forms and payment can be dropped off at the Chatham Extension Center located in the Agriculture Building, 65 East Chatham Street, Pittsboro, between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday, or mailed to:
