Growing and Preserving Culinary Herbs

Culinary herbs are among the easiest edible plants to grow, and if you enjoy cooking, access to fresh herbs will enhance flavor and save money.

Join Matt Jones (Extension Horticulture Agent) and the Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Chatham County for a workshop on how to grow and preserve culinary herbs. Learn about growing herbs in raised beds and containers, watering, fertilization, and tips for specific annual and perennial herb crops. Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteer Pat Weisbrodt will present on different ways to preserve and use herbs.

Two identical sessions of this workshop are available to accommodate your schedule:

  • Monday, March 11, 2019, 10 a.m.–noon REGISTER
  • Thursday, March 14, 2019, 6:30–8:30 p.m. REGISTER

The workshop costs $6 per person. Registration and fee payment is required by Mar. 7, 2019. Select a date and click on the REGISTER link above.

Both workshops will be held at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center (1192 US 64 W Business in Pittsboro).

This workshop is part of the Extension Gardener series of workshops that are open to everyone. It is also part of the Extension Master Gardener℠ Initial Training program. Learn more about becoming a Master Gardener℠ volunteer in Chatham County.
