Growing Culinary Herbs in Home Gardens

Thursday, May 5, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.
Friday, May 6, 10:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Please note: This is the same workshop offered on two different dates to accommodate participants’ schedules and to keep class size small.

Culinary herbs are among the easiest edible plants you can grow at home. All most herbs need to thrive is a sunny spot and well-drained soil. If you have heavy clay soil you can still grow herbs in raised beds or containers. Learn how to get your herb garden started and which varieties are best adapted to the Piedmont during this free class taught by Charlotte Glen, Chatham Extension Horticulture Agent.

This workshop will be held in the auditorium of the Agriculture Building, 65 E. Chatham St., Pittsboro.

This workshop is free but registration is required by May 2, 2016. To register:

Persons with disabilities and persons with limited English proficiency may request accommodations to participate by contacting Sam Groce, County Extension Director, at 919-542-8202 or email, or in person at the Chatham County Extension Center at least 10 days prior to the event.
