The time has finally come!

Registration for the 2025 Gingerbread Competition with Chatham County 4-H is now officially open!

GINGERBREAD COMPETITION REGISTRATION

Do you want to be part of the sweet seasonal magic and have your gingerbread creation featured at our festive Extravaganza? This is your moment! Be sure to register by November 21st at 4:00 PM to secure your spot.

Completed entries must be delivered to the Chatham County Center (1192 US 64 W Business, Suite 400, Pittsboro, NC 27312) on December 1st or 2nd for judging.

Please drop off entries at the 4-H/Cooperative Extension office during the following times:

• Monday, December 1st — 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  (Drop-off after 5:00 PM available by appointment only.)

• Tuesday, December 2nd — 8:00 AM–12:00 PM

Key Dates to Remember:

• Registration Opens - Nov. 3rd
• Registration Closes - Nov. 21st (4:00pm)
• Entries Due: December 1st or 2nd (at the Chatham County Center)
• Public Showcase: December 4th at the Gingerbread Extravaganza! (3:30pm - 7:30pm)

Who Can Participate?

• Individuals, Classrooms, Groups: Free entry
• Businesses & Professionals: Small registration fee (supports local 4-H youth development programs)

COMPETITION CATEGORIES

This competition is open to all ages. Age categories will include:

• Tiny Tots (>7 years old) – Individuals or Groups
• Junior (8-12 years old) – Individuals or Groups
• Senior (13-18 years old) – Individuals or Groups
• Young at Heart (19+ years old) – Individuals or Groups (amateurs, not professional bakers)
• Businesses (amateurs, not professional bakers)
• Professionals (professional bakers, both individuals and groups)

Each entrant is allowed to submit one entry as an individual as well as a group (if they so wish). Entries can include houses/structures, houses/structures built from kits, and cookies.
