We’ll have plenty of fun and festive things to explore this year at our Gingerbread Extravaganza!Gingerbread Showcase | 3:30PM to 7:30PM
Experience the magic of the season at our Gingerbread Showcase, featuring all the incredible creations from the 4-H Gingerbread Competition!Youth Entrepreneurs Holiday Market | 4:00PM to 7:00PM or while supplies last!
Be sure to stop by the Youth Entrepreneurs Holiday Market (bring cash!) to find unique, handcrafted, and one-of-a-kind gifts while supporting local youth.
Winter Wonderland Outdoor Village | 3:30PM to 7:30PM
- Make-Your-Own Reindeer Feed Station - Stop by to make your own bag of reindeer feed using festive ingredients!
- Wintery Bunny Races - A jolly, bouncy race for tiny tots as they hop their way through a candy cane forest.
- Reindeer Games - Enjoy festive free play and classic carnival-style games at the Reindeer Games Station.
- Frosty Flurries - Delight in the frosty flurries of sparkling (artificial) snow that bring our Winter Wonderland Village to life!
Holiday Plant Education Sessions
Get into the spirit of the season while learning all about the plants that make the holidays bright! Whether you’re a home gardener, plant enthusiast, or just love holiday décor, these sessions will deepen your appreciation for the greenery that brings the season to life. Join us for engaging and educational sessions featuring:- Christmas Trees | 3:30 - 3:50PM
- Mistletoe | 4:30 - 4:50PM
- Poinsettia | 5:30 - 5:50PM
- Combined Session | 6:30 - 7:30PM
Entertainment
- Horton Middle School Chorus | 5:15PM
- 7 Dance Centre Mini Company | 6:00PM
Holiday Activities | 3:30PM to 7:30PM or while supplies last!
Explore a magical collection of craft and activity stations led by our wonderful Extension Master Gardeners and 4-H volunteers! Youth can create holiday-themed crafts, try hands-on activities, and enjoy a merry, creative experience. Be sure to chat with the EMGs to learn fun facts and tips about holiday plants!More details on all the fun at the Gingerbread Extravaganza coming soon!
Gingerbread Competition
Want to be a part of the glorious display of seasonal cheer with all the gingerbread creations showcased at the Extravaganza? This is your chance! Registration for our Gingerbread Competition will open on November 3rd and close on November 21st.Visit our Gingerbread Competition Registration page for more information!
Completed entries will be due to the Chatham County Center in Pittsboro December 1st for judging.
COMPETITION CATEGORIES
This competition is open to all ages. Age categories will include:- Tiny Tots (>7 years old) - Individuals or Groups
- Junior (8-12 years old) - Individuals or Groups
- Senior (13-18 years old) - Individuals or Groups
- Young at Heart (19+ years old) - Individuals or Groups (amateurs, not professional bakers)
- Businesses (amateurs, not professional bakers)
- Professionals (professional bakers, both individuals and groups)
