What Is Cooperative Extension?

We are a partnership between NC State University, NC A&T State University, and Chatham County government, bringing university knowledge and resources directly to the people. Our services are free or low-cost, open to all residents, and designed to meet real-world needs.

Many people confuse us with other agencies like the NC Department of Agriculture. While we work closely with many agricultural partners, Extension is unique: we are a non-regulatory, educational outreach organization focused on helping you succeed.
