In the Jersey Summer yearling class, Rafter T. Wranglers’ members dominated the field. The photo capturing the moment showcased Kate Walters, Langston Thomas, Natalie Maynor, and Ava Sowell proudly standing in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places respectively among the six exhibited calves. Their skill and dedication were evident as they confidently presented their animals to the judge.
Additionally, in the Jersey Spring yearling class, two other club members stood out, achieving 2nd and 3rd places among five entries, although their success was not captured in a photo. This dual achievement highlighted the depth of talent within the Rafter T. Wranglers 4-H Club.
Langston Thomas, a standout junior showman from the club, was recognized individually for his exceptional showmanship skills, adding another feather to the club’s cap.
Reflecting on their achievements, club members expressed their joy and satisfaction in participating in the show. They found it to be a great learning experience, especially as Kate Walters’ calf competed for the Jersey champion title after placing first in her class.
The club’s commitment to excellence was evident not only in their performance but also in their camaraderie and teamwork. The calves themselves, each named with affection by their young handlers, including Pumpkin, Hershey, Bella, Daisy, Lemonberry, and Scarlett, added a personal touch to the event, showcasing the bonds formed between the members and their animals.
