The Great Southeast Pollinator Census is a citizen science event to help assess the number and types of pollinators in our region. It is also an opportunity to learn about the importance and impact of our native pollinating insects.
The Extension Master Gardener℠ Volunteers of Chatham County are hosting several census events around the county, as well as events at local libraries on how to conduct a census in your own garden. Pre-registration is not required.
How to Conduct a Pollinator Census
- All About Pollinators and the GSEPC – August 4th, 10:30 -11:30 at the Goldston Public Library
- Busy Bees Pollinating – August 20th, 3:30 – 4:30 at the Wren Memorial Library
EMG Pollinator Census Sites
- August 22nd – 10:30-1130 a.m. at the Chatham Alliance Teaching Garden (Pittsboro)
- August 22nd – 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at EMG Demonstration Garden (Pittsboro)
- August 22nd – 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at N.C. Cooperative Extension Pollinator Paradise Garden (Pittsboro)
- August 22nd – 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at The Collaborative Garden (Siler City)
- August 23rd – 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at EMG Demonstration Garden (Pittsboro)
