Looking for something local to do for spring break? Join some of our enthusiastic Extension Master Gardener Volunteers (EMGV) at their “Nature at Home” Jr. Master Gardener spring break camp!

During CCS’s 2024 spring break, the EMGV are hosting a fun-filled week at the Chatham County Ag Center (1192 US 64W Business, Suite 400,
Pittsboro, NC). The camp will be April 1 – 5 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., for youth ages 8 – 14 with a cost of $75.

Come and learn about plants, insects, soil, ecology, and more through games and hands-on activities. Think planting, butterfly nets and make your own pizza! The theme this year is Nature at Home – campers will take away ideas that can be implemented at home. A field trip to the NC Botanical Garden (transportation provided) is a much-anticipated part of the camp activities. Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and close-toed shoes to be prepared for an awesome week! Enrollment space is limited, so don’t wait to sign up!

How to Register for JMG Spring Break Camp:

  1. You must be enrolled in 4-HOnline 2.0 to register for the event. If you have not yet enrolled, please visit our 4-HOnline 2.0 information page on how to successfully do this. (As a bonus, enrolled members get instant notifications to register for additional county events – like summer camps – and much more!)  4-H membership is FREE and is now required to participate in county 4-H programs. If you are not interested in joining a 4-H club, that is no problem. Just make sure to select “Chatham Members At Large” as your club selection in 4-HOnline.
  2. After completing 4-HOnline enrollment, 4-H staff will approve your initial enrollment which will allow you to see the available event offerings for Chatham County.
  3. Log back into your 4-HOnline account and click on the “event” link on the left side of the page to see the complete list of events. After choosing your event selections, 4-H staff will be able to approve your registration(s) based on space availability.
