Dalton Suits, Livestock Extension Agent (Chatham County Center)

Pittsboro, N.C. – The N.C. Cooperative Extension – Chatham County Center is excited to announce Dalton Suits as its new Livestock Extension Agent. Suits assumed field faculty duties on May 1st and will lead programming duties in the areas of livestock, equine, field crops, and forages work, while also serving as the county pesticide coordinator.

He brings a wealth of experience to the position, having served as the owner and operator of a family farm in the Bennett area as well as an animal science instructor at Wilkes Community College. “I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and working hand in hand with area producers to be a resource and help ensure their success,” said Suits.

For area residents and producers, Suits is able to provide technical consultation and guidance for their operations, as well as critical community outreach assistance, all of which there is a high demand for in Chatham County.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dalton to our office; he is a tremendous addition to our team, and we know the community is extremely pleased to have him in this field faculty position, which speaks volumes for his character, work ethic, technical skills, and expertise,” said Dr. Ginger McLaurin Cunningham, Director, N.C. Cooperative Extension – Chatham County Center. “Dalton has a true passion for assisting others, and that has been evident in the short time he has been with Cooperative Extension.
