Chatham County Center – North Carolina Cooperative Extension will be offering a program entitled “Eat Smart / Move More – Take Control” from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm on Monday, September 28th at 1192 Hwy 64 West Business, Pittsboro. “Take Control” is a six-week, chronic disease prevention and management program that provides strategies to help adults manage their health. It uses the theory of planned behavior to inform, empower, and motivate participants with strategies and skills to change their eating and physical activity patterns. These strategies are consistent with the 2015 Dietary Guidelines recommendation to prevent chronic disease. The program provides opportunities for participants to track their goals and progress toward healthy eating and physical activity behaviors. Each lesson comes with a handout that summarizes the primary goals from that lesson along with a featured recipe.
Classes will be held in the Teaching Kitchen of the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center building. The cost is $5.00. Registration is required, the deadline is September 11th.
